Teddy Bears’ Picnic

“If you go down in the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise
If you go down to the woods today
You'd better go in disguise

For ev'ry bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic”

Yes, this is the very song I’ve had in my mind all week long.  Here’s why…

Fuzzy, but I managed to get some shots of the guy.  Yoda went crazy barking while out on our back deck, and I knew something was up.  I walked down to the river deck and this time I didn’t bring the camera.  Once I saw that there was a bear across the river..and we were safe, I waved the kids to come down.  We watched as it came down out of the brush, and settled down in the water.  For a little while it just sat up and hung out in the water, sniffing the air every few seconds.  It is a big dude.  Once it noticed us it slowly made it’s way up the river bank, lumbering along…oh it’s so heavy!  Jeremy went down to see if he could get some closer pictures.  I think this time I’ve got him convinced we need a “real” zoom lens (hehe).  The video above is his adventure down.  I was a little nervous.  We have a baby (2-3 years old) roaming around during the day and the parents hang out in the evening.  I don’t like the baby playing around, but it’s such a treat to see them across the river!!!!

He visited on my 36th birthday.  Quite the memory I will have!

70’s Funky Town

Our pastor, and friend, recently had a 70’s themed 40th birthday party.  It was a huge hit and we had tons of fun.  Just going to get our outfits was 1/2 the fun.  Many laughs were had at the Goodwill and Value Village to name a few.  ;-)  Jill was voted the “Queen of Funkadelic Fashion” for having the best 70’s outfit.  What’s more funny is we had to look up 70’s fashion on the internet because we were only 6 years old as the 70’s faded away and the awesome 80’s took hold…

Jeremy and Jill before they left for the party…

I wasn’t really “funky”.  I was more like the 70’s housewife as many put it.

Party decorations were awesome!  Notice the real album covers…ahh the memories!

And now for a great video.  I can’t watch it without laughing! Jeremy does such a great Napoleon Dynamite move here.

I have to add…they guy following Jeremy is Glen Salzman, who the party was in honor of.

Ice Cream and Sunny Days

Although today isn’t the nicest of days, this past week has been filled with warm sunshine.  Yesterday was in the low 70’s and sunny…a nice day for some park play.

Before we went to the park, the kids and I dropped off 358 old Rule Family slides at Costco and as a treat…and from quite a raving review from my sister-in-law Yara, bought a few of their ice cream bars from the food stand.

I will say, they are good, but still not the best.  Hands down my favorite ice cream bar has to be Häagen Dazs Vanilla and Almond or the Coffee and Almond ice cream bars.  Mmmm…
